Learning Outcomes

Mechatronics is a combination of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics, however as technology advanced, Mechatronics has evolved to a multidisciplinary field that encompasses Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering , Telecomms and Control.

Mechatronics brings in Electronics Automation and Electronics control to mechanical designs in a system where the multidisciplinary sub fields adapt to each other as they are combined.

Our Mechatronics course is a hands-on practical course that teaches from the very basics of Mechatronics designs' to advanced Mechatronics projects

At the end of this course students would be able to do the following

  • Understand the concept of Mechatronics Technology
  • Understand , Identify and test basic Electonic components and devices commongly used in Mechtronics.
  • Do basic AutoCAD drawings in 2D and 3D
  • Write Microcontroller Programs in Assembly Language
  • Understand and Construct full Electronics and Mechatronics System
  • Understand the concept of CNC machine and the mechanical design Automation.

Course Contents & Schedule

STAGE1


TRAINNG DAY1 & DAY2
  • Accreditation of Participants: Accreditation of Participants & Installation of relevant Software
  • Introduction to Mechatronics Systems': Understanding basic concepts and systems in Mechatronics. This covers the concepts of embedded electonics systems and how they interface to motors, drives and control elements used in Mechatronics.
  • Electronics Components & Devices: Physical Identification , testing and uses of Passive & Active components, Motors & Stepper motors, gears systems etc
 

TRAINNG DAYS 2 - 4
  • Electronics Equipment used in Mechatronics : Basics of digital multimeters, taking basic measurements (Voltage, contimuity, temperature, capacitance , hfe etc). Digital Oscilloscope, Bench Power Supply Units, Use of Electronics Tools.
  • Electronic Construction Skills: Understanding Data Sheets, Understanding Schematic diagrams, basic breadboarding, soldering of circuits , Electronics project coupling.

TRAINING DAYS 5 - 8
  • AutoCAD 2D Basics: Starting to draw, opening a drawing, using commands, specifying co-ordinates, using drawing aids from the status bar.
  • Drawing 2D : Drawing basic 2D objects using drawing tools, editing your drawings using the modify tools, Layers, Colors, Linetypes, Lineweights, creating text, dimensioning, creating dimension styles, drawing complex objects. 2D Drawing Exercises.
  • TRAINING DAY9 - 10
    Mechatronics Project : Construction of an Automatic Sliding Door.

  • REVIEW OF TRAINING: General review of entire training.
  • PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE : Certificate Presentation to Participant(s).
