Learning Outcomes

 

The course is a full fledged practical Eelectronics course and has a pre-requisite. You must have done the certificate course in electronics ( which gives you good graps of the basics ) before commencing this course. There are two stages of this training. STAGE 1 delves into advanced topics required for electronics design, including analog & digital circuits, sensors & tranduces, whearas STAGE 2 covers microcontrollers and embedded systems. At the end of this course, you be able to ;

  • Design basic Analog Circuits using Op-Amps, Transistors etc.
  • Design Circuits using discrete components.
  • Write Microcontroller programs in Assembly & C .
  • Do basic Microcontroller Designs.
  • Do Electronic circuit simulation using Multisimm.
  • Do Electronic circuit simulation using Proteus.
  • Design PCBs and couple projects.
  • Do Electronics Maintenance and trouble-shooting.

Course Contents & Schedule

STAGE1 (Discrete Electronics)


TRAINNG DAY1 -DAY 3
  • ELECTRONICS SIMULATION : Introduction to proteus & Multisimm. Simulation of basic circuit examples. Use of electronics data-sheets.
  • TRANSDUCERS & EM DEVICES: LDRs , Infrared Transcievers, phototransistors & photodiodes , Relays & Reed switches, Opto-couplers , ultrasonic , wireless transceivers etc.
  • MULTIVIBRATORS: Monostable , Astable & Bistable circuits, 555 timer circuits and applications .

  • PRACTICAL EXERCISES : Simulation of Multivibrator Circuits , Breadboarding of hardware , Introduction to Linear power supplies , Simulation & Breadboarding of Single, Dual & Variable PSUs .


 



TRAINING DAY4 - DAY6
  • ANALOG ELECTRONICS: Op-Amps and comparators, Op-Amp applications circuits, AD & DA converters.
  • TRANSISTORS: Small & Large signal amplifiers, Switching transistor circuits , small signal amplifiers.
  • DESIGN & BUILD PROJECT: PCB production, Circuit design to given specifications, Circuit simulation, construction and coupling shall be done.

 

STAGE 2

TRAINING DAY1 &2
  • MICROCONTROLLERS: Introduction to embedded systems , Introduction to the PIC microcontroller, microcontroller hardware, Programming the microcontroller, working with 16F84 PIC controller, microcontroller I/O, timing , Entering data , Memory map for 16F84 controller, working with MPLAB IDE , creating header files.
  • INSTRUCTION SET & REGISTERS: The PIC instruction set , Registers, File , Microcontroller data & data sheets.

TRAINING DAY3
  • ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE: Introduction to PIC assembly language, Program algorithm , basic PIC codes , coding basic applications, running and debugging your program , Coverting to Hex Files. Programming the PIC.
  • PROGRAM EXERCISES: Wrinting your first PIC program. Practical Exercises using Microcontroller development board and Proteus.

TRAINING DAY 4 -DAY6
  • PROGRAM EXERCISES: More program exercises.
  • ADVANCED APPLICATIONS: Keypad scanning , Alphanumerique(LCD) displays , AD converters , Radio transmitters & Recievers , interupts , EEPROM data memory.
  • MICROCONTROLLER PROJECT: Design and build microcontroller project.
